David Dubois, who ‘retired’ from the US-based Exhibitor Group on 1 July 2024, has re-emerged in a new industry role, having been appointed by New Jersey-based AI-powered networking app provider MatchPoint. He is to take up the role of director of strategic development.
Before his short-lived, nine-month stint at Exhibitor Group, DuBois had also retired from his role as president and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).
A MatchPoint statement on LinkedIn welcomed DuBois, saying: “We’re thrilled to welcome David DuBois to MatchPoint as our new director of strategic development! David’s expertise will help drive our mission to revolutionise in-person networking. We couldn’t be happier to also have him join our team just in time for CEIR – Center for Exhibition Industry Research Demo Day (Sept. 12-13).”
DuBois thus continues to add to his over 45 years of experience in the exhibitions and events industry and said: “Joining MatchPoint at such an exciting time is an honour. The innovative approach that MatchPoint brings to professional networking aligns with my passion for connecting people and advancing the events industry. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of MatchPoint and building strategic partnerships that will drive monumental growth.
“Additionally, having had the pleasure of co-founding the Exhibitions and Conferences Alliance (the exhibition and conferences advocacy and public policy entity) I have a similar passion for the launch of MatchPoint as we enhance the networking experiences for professionals worldwide.”
DuBois will officially represent MatchPoint at the upcoming CEIR Predict 2024 conference, scheduled for 12 September at the MGM National Harbor, where he will engage with industry leaders to showcase MatchPoint’s state-of-the-art solutions.
