International Additive Manufacturing event Formnext welcomed 38,282 visitors to its 2025 Frankfurt trade show in November. Organiser Mesago Messe Frankfurt, said the numbers represented a record and noted the exhibition area covered approximately 50,000sqm (gross).
Of the visitors to this tenth anniversary edition, almost 18,000 (47%) came from outside of Germany. The exhibition included 804 exhibitors, 61% from outside Germany.
The show offered an extensive supporting programme and highlighted the applications and opportunities that Additive Manufacturing offers over various industrial sectors.
“The last ten years have been characterised by enormous technological development. Additive manufacturing is no longer a promise of the future, but a reality in numerous industries,” said Sascha F. Wenzler, vice-president Formnext at the organiser Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “But with progress come new challenges. And this is precisely where Formnext comes in: It showcases solutions to further industrialise AM, make supply chains more flexible, and make the technology more accessible to medium-sized companies,” Wenzler added.
“This is my first visit to Formnext and I wanted to learn as much as possible and make valuable new contacts. I found a wide range of companies – from small and medium-sized enterprises to large key players: they are all represented here. It was particularly exciting to see how diverse and in-depth the technologies are. I’m already looking forward to coming back next year,” was the reaction from Phillip Chang, product developer, Mobile Outfitters.
“At Rodin Cars, we produce high-performance sports cars, and since additive manufacturing is an essential part of our process, both in research and development and in the production of end-use parts, we were eager to attend Formnext to explore what the international industry has to offer. We are thrilled and inspired by what we have seen,” said Michael Blair, additive technician and Andrew Murton, mechanical design engineer, Rodin Cars.
This year’s show included the Formnext Awards (including visitor voting), specialised seminars and focused tours of the trade fair, and AM live shows.
Christoph Stüker, vice-president Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt, said: “Formnext has shown that it is far more than a trade fair, namely a source of inspiration and home to a global, constantly growing family.”
Formnext 2026 takes place 17-20 November in Frankfurt.
