Messe Berlin’s event ITB China scores 35% growth in 2025

ITB China 2025, organised by Messe Berlin China based on the original ITB Berlin, has concluded with a 35% rise in attendance compared to 2024. The show ran from 27-29 May 2025 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.

ITB China is a leading B2B trade show for the Chinese travel industry – connecting travel professionals around the world with buyers in China. The event was launched in 2017 and helps international professionals tap into China’s fast-growing travel market.

The 2025 edition welcomed over 20,500 attendees, including 1,400 high-quality buyers and 280 media representatives. More than 700 exhibitors from 85 countries showcased their offerings. Exhibition space expanded by 30%.

The event facilitated over 38,800 business meetings. ITB China 2025 also saw 150 top-tier speakers at the ITB China Conference, covering over 60 industry topics.

David Axiotis, managing director of Messe Berlin China, commented: “From the resurgence of Chinese cross-border tourism to the rise of … personalised travel, this year’s show not only reflected the market momentum, but clearly accelerated it.”

A key highlight, the C-Talks, saw more than 30 senior executives and officials from Chinese travel companies and global tourism boards discuss strategies for growth. The event also welcomed 1,400 buyers, including representatives from all Chinese provinces and 19 countries – reportedly marking the first time such broad representation has been achieved.

ITB China will return in 2026, set for 26-28 May at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Exhibitors can register early to secure a 10% discount.
