NUSSLI to build interior of Brazilian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

Swiss event construction firm NUSSLI, based in Hüttwilen, will deliver the interior construction of the Brazilian pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. The firm will work with the NOE Group as main contractor. The global exposition opens on 13 April 2025 in Japan.

This marks the fifth national pavilion awarded to NUSSLI for the Osaka Expo. The Swiss company also has contracts for Switzerland, Austria, Uzbekistan and Kuwait.

The Brazilian pavilion’s design is led by Brazilian film and theatre director Bia Lessa. The concept presents a “living laboratory” using inflatable installations and interactive exhibits. Themes of the stand will explore sustainability, social justice and cultural diversity. The experience is structured across five acts, ranging from the beauty of nature to the consequences of human exploitation and possibilities for renewal.

Visitors will be given traditional “parangolés” (cloaks) and guided through a multisensory experience. NUSSLI will use sustainable materials like recycled plastic for environmental reasons.

The pavilion’s outer structure is provided by the Expo Association. NUSSLI is managing interior execution under NOE Group, with LC & Partner acting as supervisor.

“Working on a national pavilion is a great honour in and of itself. When the concept is also based on the idea of a Brazilian cultural legend, it can shamelessly be de-scribed as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity,” said Stefan Sekiguchi, COO of Special Projects at NUSSLI.
