REBUILD 2025 explores future of modular housing and sustainable design

The 2025 edition of REBUILD, one of Europe’s largest trade shows dedicated to industrial construction, has concluded at IFEMA Madrid.

The three-day event attracted 28,739 professionals and generated more than €67m in economic impact.

REBUILD 2025 was held from 23-25 April and featured 634 exhibitors. Companies showcased over 2,100 solutions across industrialised, sustainable and tech-driven construction. Austria was spotlighted as Guest Country for its leadership in timber construction and social housing. Delegations from Chile, India, Belgium and others explored the potential for Iberian partnerships.

Alongside the exhibition, the Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 Congress also ran. It brought together 707 experts. Speakers included Dominique Perrault (Paris 2024 Olympic Village), Stefano Boeri (Bosco Verticale) and Silja Tillner (affordable housing design).

Reportedly, one of the standout moments of the event came when Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez joined architect Carlo Ratti to sign a climate-focused architecture manifesto.

As well as this signing, PM Sánchez also announced a €1.3bn national housing industrialisation plan – aimed at expanding affordable housing through off-site and modular construction.

REBUILD 2025 showcased how digital tools, decarbonisation strategies and international collaboration are reshaping the future of European construction.
