After 12 years spearheading major events like the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), general manager Johan Hasser has resigned from Mulpha Events.
Under Johan’s leadership, SCIBS has become one of the most important events in the global marine calendar. The boat show just had a record-breaking 2024, attracting 335 exhibitors, 43,741 attendees, 767 boats, 102 product launches and more than 2,500 marine products.
“Johan has taken the show to new heights, making it a key event in the marine industry worldwide,” said Patrick Lonergan, head of hotel, hospitality and leisure at Mulpha Australia.
Johan commented: “I am immensely proud of what my team and I have achieved at Mulpha Events. The growth of SCIBS and the addition of new events reflect our passion and commitment to excellence. I am confident Mulpha Events will continue to thrive.”
In 2025, Mulpha Events is preparing to tackle the year’s schedule. SCIBS, Mulpha’s biggest event, is coming up in May, with the Gold Coast Festival of Gold (in conjunction with the Australian WPGA Championship) happening in March, the newly acquired Australian Adventure Expo also scheduled for March and the Sydney International Boat Show booked in for late July/early August.
