Numera Mässor will become the new organiser of Stockholmsmässan’s public consumer fairs, having acquired the portfolio. Eight events will now be handed over to external organiser Numera Mässor.
The move follows Stockholmsmässan’s shift in strategy announced on 1 October. The venue will focus increasingly on business meetings and congress activity.
As part of that shift, public fairs will no longer be organised in-house, although Stockholmsmässan intends to continue hosting them through the external organiser.
Numera Mässor is a Swedish organiser of public consumer fairs, founded in 1996. It operates fairs across sectors including home and living, gardening, antiques, and food and drink. It has previously organised Sy & Hantverksfestivalen and Seniorfestivalen at Stockholmsmässan.
Mats Viker, chief executive at Stockholmsmässan, said: “I am delighted to welcome Numera Mässor to Stockholmsmässan as the organiser of our public consumer fairs. Our portfolios complement each other well, and the company is an experienced and well-established player in the industry.”
Ulf Ottosson, chief executive and principal owner of Numera Mässor, said: “For me and the entire team at Numera Mässor, this is a significant milestone.”
“Doubling” their operations
He added: “With this acquisition, we take a major step into the future, doubling our operations and establish Numera Mässor as Sweden’s largest private organiser of consumer fairs – all while celebrating our 30th anniversary.”
The handover includes eight established events. These are Allt för Hälsan, Allt för Sjön, Hem & Villamässan, Nya Antikmässan, Nordiska Trädgårdar, Sthlm Food & Wine, Bak & Chokladfestivalen, and Vinordic Wine Challenge.
