Organisers of the Australian Adventure Expo (AAE), Mulpha Events, have cancelled plans to run a 2025 edition citing “challenges around new date availability after the unfortunate impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred”. The two-day show was due to run at Brisbane Showgrounds 5-6 March but was postponed due to the effects of the cyclone.
Now Mulpha Events, which acquired AAE from Brooks Events in June 2024, says the show, launched in 2021 and which serves the A$11bn outdoor recreation market by connecting importers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and service providers with resellers in the Australasian region, said it had “made the difficult decision to cancel the 2025 edition having explored every possible option for a new date”.
A statement from Mulpha said: “This wasn’t the outcome we’d hoped for. We know this event is more than just a date on the calendar – it’s where the outdoor industry comes alive, where adventurers connect, and where innovation takes centre stage.
“While this outcome is not what we had hoped for, we are already planning for an exciting return in 2026. A refreshed format is in development, including the introduction of a dedicated consumer day, designed to expand the event experience and create even more opportunities for adventure enthusiasts to connect, explore, and be inspired.”
