Excel’s IMMERSE LDN unveils new experience

Immerse LDN, located at the Excel London waterfront, has unveiled a new immersive experience and a new ‘chapter’ to its offering with Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, set to open on 28 March 2025.

Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, has captivated over 1.8m visitors in 12 cities including Madrid, Hamburg, Cairo, São Paulo, Barcelona, Vienna and Malmö.

The exhibition is endorsed and supported by the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo and was created in collaboration with Egyptologists and historians.

Set over a 2,499sqm space it features one of Europe’s largest immersive video mapping rooms with 8-metre-high projections.

Guests will journey through a rich exploration of Egyptian civilisation, featuring carefully curated replicas and artefacts alongside captivating background stories.

The experience includes an immersive video mapping room that delves into Egypt’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, the life of Tutankhamun, his tomb, and its discovery.

A highlight of the experience is a 30-minute immersive movie, where the moment of the tomb’s discovery is narrated by the real voice of Howard Carter, the renowned British archaeologist.

Visitors will then embark on a 360-degree seated virtual reality journey into the mystical Egyptian afterlife, followed by a hi-tech hologram presentation vividly depicting the entire mummification process of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.

Finally, guests are invited to step into an interactive digital metaverse walk-through of the Valley of the Kings, where they can explore Howard Carter’s basecamp and relive the monumental 1922 discovery in all its glory.

The experience will run from 28 March – 27June 2025, for a strictly limited 14-week run only, before leaving the UK to go on a wider European tour.
