Expo veteran NUSSLI delivers five national pavilions for World Expo 2025

NUSSLI has completed construction of five national Pavilions for World Expo 2025 Osaka, which runs from 13 April to 13 October. The Swiss supplier was commissioned to deliver the pavilions for Switzerland, Austria, Uzbekistan, Brazil and Kuwait.

Each structure required close coordination with Japanese authorities and custom adaptation to local building laws. The Expo site on Osaka’s artificial island Yumeshima presented added challenges around foundation planning, logistics and seismic requirements.

NUSSLI has delivered over 50 Expo pavilions since 2000. This marks its ninth World Expo.

Swiss Pavilion “La Suisse Enchantée” (pictured) features modular, recyclable spheres. Austria’s pavilion includes a wooden sculpture representing its musical legacy. Kuwait’s structure features a vast floating roof. Uzbekistan’s mobile stage required extensive regulation alignment. Brazil adapted a standard Expo structure with custom architectural elements.

NUSSLI Group CEO Andy Böckli said: “These pavilions are a shining example of Swiss engineering and are actively shaping the global dialogue about the future.”
