Hong Kong CEC introduces Lucky Draw to boost vaccination drive

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), has introduced a lottery incentive prize to promote the city-wide vaccination drive.

HML launched the Lucky Draw on 14 July to encourage Hong Kong residents to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Prizes valued at over US$64,000 include year-round unlimited dinner buffets and dining vouchers at HKCEC’s restaurants. Participants must have completed the Covid-19 vaccination course in Hong Kong on or before 31 August to be eligible to win.

With large-scale public shows lined up in July and August, HML’s latest safety measures include deploying robots to apply disinfectants, spraying anti-virus disinfection coating in event venues and public circulation areas, installing new air handling units with UV lamps, and providing contactless payment options in F&B outlets. All staff members and contractor workers involved in exhibition operations must present either a negative Covid-19 test result or vaccination records before being admitted to event venues.

Monica Lee-Müller, managing director of HML, commented: “With enhanced preventive measures in place, the HKCEC has welcomed over 830,000 visitors to four concurrent public exhibitions during 14–20 July. Yet, achieving herd immunity through vaccination is vital for the revival of the international exhibition and travel industry.”
