Mad Systems Inc, a U.S.- based AV tech company that specialises in education and entertainment, has launched Alice™ OnBoard a mobile version of its Alice™ personalisation platform.
It works directly on visitors’ phones and doesn’t require any beacons or cameras to be installed at the exhibit.
Alice™ OnBoard is a mobile system designed for use in settings like museums, parks, cruise ships, visitor centers, retail spaces, and public areas. It runs over Wi-Fi and can guide visitors through exhibits or locations without needing fixed hardware like beacons or sensors.
It can operate on its own or alongside existing setups using Mad Systems’ QuickSilver® AV system, supporting a mix of mobile, screen-based, or sensor-driven experiences.
The system can be used indoors or outdoors, and Mad Systems can either handle the setup and training or work with in-house teams to integrate it.
Key Features include:
- Instant deployment: Visitors join the venue’s Wi-Fi, scan an RFID tag or QR code, and launch Alice™ OnBoard in their browser.
- Personalised journeys: The patented Alice™ engine tailors media to each guest’s language, age, interests, and accessibility needs, then adapts in real time as the visit unfolds.
- 200+ languages, full accessibility: Captions, audio description, and screen-reader compatibility arrive automatically in the visitor’s preferred language.
- Institution-controlled content: Curators manage Alice’s “Body of Knowledge”; visitors receive the right story, personalised to their preferences, at the right moment, every time they return.
- Edge or cloud flexibility: Run Alice™ OnBoard entirely in the cloud or deploy it on-premises for ultra-low latency and data-sovereignty peace of mind.
Maris J.Ensing, founder of Mad Systems, said: “Institutions need cutting-edge engagement, but they don’t always have the time or budget for major hardware roll-outs. Alice™ OnBoard turns any Wi-Fi network into an intelligent, personalised guide so museums can focus on storytelling while we handle the tech in the cloud, or at the edge.”
