Messe Frankfurt, in partnership with C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd (C.I.S Malaysia), has announced the launch of smarteX Malaysia, a new specialised exhibition that will be co-located with ARCHIDEX 2026 (25th International Architecture, Interior Design & Building Exhibition).
Under the theme ‘Smart Technology for Life. Work. Space.’, the new exhibition will bring together smart technology suppliers to showcase IoT, automation, sustainability and smart infrastructure solutions that fuse digital innovation tailored for smart building and facility management. The debut trade show will take place 29 July–1 August 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
Stephan Buurma, Board member at Messe Frankfurt Group, said: “Joining Messe Frankfurt’s portfolio of some 20 Building Technologies events worldwide, the debut of smarteX Malaysia will bring the company’s global expertise to the ASEAN region. With the countries in the region investing heavily in intelligent, future-ready infrastructure, there is a clear and growing demand for practical, adaptable smart space solutions. By pairing our global resources and network of technology providers with C.I.S Malaysia’s local expertise and ARCHIDEX’s community, we are putting international solutions directly in front of the players delivering these projects on the ground, while giving domestic stakeholders a gateway for global expansion.”
Malaysia has emerged as an attractive investment destination amid a strengthening economy, with GDP growth projected to exceed 4% this year. As the economy pivots to high-value, technology-driven industries, new commercial and infrastructure projects are being designed to higher technological standards, creating a growing demand for intelligent building systems, digital services and energy-efficient solutions.
The digital transformation of Malaysia’s building industry is guided by the National Construction Policy (NCP) 2030 and supported by implementation frameworks such as the Construction Action Plan 2030 (CAP30). These initiatives promote the adoption of technologies like Building Information Modelling (BIM) across the full lifecycle, from design and construction to maintenance.
“This is an exciting time for the built environment as we introduce smarteX Malaysia, a new show co-located with ARCHIDEX. In partnership with Messe Frankfurt, this initiative elevates the industry to the next level by bringing together global expertise. The collaboration provides stakeholders with a premier platform to connect, innovate, and shape the future of smart building technologies,” said Dato’ Vincent Lim, president of C.I.S Malaysia.
