Trade fairs power rise in revenues and profit at IFEMA MADRID

IFEMA MADRID organiser and venue complex has published 2025 financial results, following approval by its Governing Board, which show revenues of €216.8m and €18.7m net profit. The revenues are 22% higher than in the previous odd-numbered year (2023), while the net profit has risen by 165.

Management says IFEMA MADRID’s growth has been driven by the strong performance of its flagship trade fairs and a significant increase in exhibition space sales. In 2025, net exhibition space rose by 28% compared with 2023, a comparable year, reaching 1,371,990sqm. The programme brought together 27,670 exhibiting companies, with international participation continuing to grow and foreign exhibitors now accounting for more than 22% of the total.

Overall, the 2025 calendar included 75 trade fairs; 14 congresses; four international fairs held abroad; 46 large-scale leisure events and 566 conventions among others.

President of IFEMA MADRID’s Executive Committee, José Vicente de los Mozos, said the figures “confirm the excellent progress of the business, strengthen Madrid’s position as a global reference for fairs, congresses and conventions, and support the organisation to tackle major projects such as F1.”

IFEMA MADRID leads the trade fair organiser field in Spain with a 24% share of the whole national market.

Big success stories of last year included FITUR 2025, which saw 9,500 companies from 156 countries , up 10% on 2024, and  255,000 visitors.

ARCOMadrid 2025 retained its status as a benchmark fair for contemporary art worldwide, featuring 214 galleries from 36 countries and drawing 95,000 attendees.

FRUIT ATTRACTION 2025, which featured 2,485 exhibiting companies from 64 countries and more than 120,000 visitors, posted a 13% increase on its previous edition, while the International Week of Electrification and Decarbonisation, (also known as SIED), brought together the GENERA and MATELEC fairs, drawing 800 exhibiting companies and over 57,000 visitors from 76 countries. Those numbers also represented a 46% rise over the 2024 edition. Meanwhile, MOTORTEC 2025, the leading fair for the automotive aftermarket, hosted 710 exhibitors and more than 65,500 visitors from 80 countries, up 47% over the 2022 edition.

A major new addition in 2025 was the launch of PRIVEL, the first trade fair in Spain dedicated to the private-label or own-brand industry, organised in partnership with Alimarket. It attracted 4,873 professionals from 46 countries and featured 269 exhibiting companies.

The event mix at IFEMA MADRID is evenly balanced between capital goods fairs, accounting for 44% of activity, and consumer events at 45%, while services make up 11%. Essentially close to 90% of revenue comes from the core fairs and congresses business.

IFEMA MADRID has also been expanding its digital agenda, staging digital fairs alongside its main exhibitions to extend the reach of its events. In 2025, there were 24 digital events, with a community of buyers and professionals exceeding 370,657 users, an increase of 27.4% on 2023. This was carried through LiveConnect, IFEMA’s native platform designed to extend the reach of its professional fairs and drive business activity across different economic sectors.

Abroad, the second edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION SÃO PAULO, organised last March in partnership with Fiera Milano Brasil, increased exhibition space by 66% compared with its previous edition. And, in May, ARCOlisboa held its eighth edition, consolidating its place on the international contemporary art circuit. The 4th edition of MOTORTEC CHILE took place in June with GL‑FISA Events, and the international calendar concluded at the end of August in Colombia with ESS+ powered by SICUR, organised together with local operators PAFYC and Corferias.

International attendance at Madrid-hosted fairs remained  diversified. Visitors from the European Union made up 48% of the total, with Central and South America contributing 20%. North America accounted for 9%, while the rest of Europe and Asia each represented 8%, and Africa 7%.

IFREMA MADRID recycles 88.76% of all waste, supplying 100% certified green electricity across all facilities, and using fully recyclable carpets at fairs.

The group also bolstered information security in 2025 by implementing and certifying two recognised standards: ISO 27001 and the National Security Scheme (ENS).
