Automate 2025 opens in Detroit with record turnout

Automate 2025 opened at Huntington Place, Detroit, on 12 May. The show will run until 15 May.

Automate is North America’s largest robotics and automation trade show. It is organised by the Association for Advancing Automation.

This year’s edition will feature more than 800 exhibitors showcasing technologies across robotics, machine vision, motion control, AI and sensors. Organisers expect over 25,000 attendees – a record for the event.

One key session on day one focused on warehouse robotics and how AI is changing real-time decision-making on factory floors. Amazon Robotics and Nvidia executives shared how automation is being rolled out in logistics hubs with tighter safety margins and reduced downtime.

The show’s exhibitor floor includes new machine vision systems, cobots designed for human collaboration, and turnkey solutions for SMEs entering automation for the first time.

The show will return to Chicago in 2026.
