France-based event organiser Comexposium has appointed industry veteran Sajid Desai (pictured) as president and country head of its India operation. The appointment comes as the group embarks on a strategic expansion in one of the fastest-growing global trade and consumption markets.

Desai brings more than three decades of international leadership experience across events, exhibitions, media, and digital platforms. He has held senior leadership positions with RX Global, Informa Markets, UBM, Dmg events, Nürnberg Messe, and the Indian Express Group.

Elaine Chia, CEO Asia- Pacific, Comexposium, said: “India is a strategic priority market for Comexposium. With strong macroeconomic fundamentals, rising consumption, rapid digital adoption, and major infrastructure investment, the country is on course to become the third largest economy. The recently concluded EU-India Free Trade Agreement will further strengthen trade flows, investment, and industry collaboration with Europe, while its deepening commercial engagement with the United States and Asia-Pacific markets reinforces its position as a global business and sourcing hub. Sajid’s experience in building large-scale international trade platforms and industry partnerships will help us accelerate our expansion, support new partnerships, sector development and connect Indian businesses with global markets through our event and community platforms.”

In India, Comexposium will strengthen its domestic portfolio across key sectors –including marketing, retail, digital, food & beverage, security, and construction – through established brands such as ad:tech, iMedia, and Retail Connect, which are run by Comexposium India. The group will also continue to expand its global brands, including SIAL, Vinexpo, Milipol, and Intermat, working in partnership with Inter Ads Exhibitions Pvt.Ltd to scale these platforms as it introduces new brands as part of its long-term growth strategy.

Desai said: “My focus is to strengthen the domestic market by providing industry stakeholders meaningful engagement and quality business leads through Comexposium platforms, while connecting Indian companies more deeply with international markets and global opportunities.”

The company will also facilitate participation of Indian businesses in its global exhibitions.

  • ad:tech New Delhi, an event for brands and agencies to explore the future of marketing and the digital economy, 18-19 March 2026
