CPHI & PMEC India, the largest pharma event in the country, is set to return from 26-28 November with an expected attendance of over 2,000 exhibitors – hundreds more than previous editions.
50,000 pharma executives are set to attend from more than 150 countries, another record for the event. Startup companies have shown increased interest this year, causing organisers to host a dedicated space for emerging businesses.
The event’s forecasted success mirrors the Indian pharma industry’s trajectory as a whole. CPHI recently released its Annual Survey 2024, in which it ranked India as the top ‘growth nation’ for the upcoming 12 months.
Surveyed industry leaders credit the industry’s success to positive developments in the CDMO sector and an anticipated surge in CRO services accelerated by initiatives like BIOSECURE. This positive growth will be a key topic of discussion at CPHI India.
Brand manager of CPHI & PMEC India Olga Ponomareva-Stepnaya commented: “It has been an incredibly positive year for the Indian pharma industry, and we are witnessing this first-hand with a record attendance, including over 5,000 international participants.
“On the show floor we are seeing a wide breadth of local ingredient suppliers, alongside many new advanced equipment providers as the country and regional partners seek to wider their supplier base and modernise equipment during this period of growth.”
Other topics that will be addressed include biosimilar supply chains, manufacturing infrastructure for next-gen therapeutics, sustainability challenges in Indian pharma, green chemistry and pharm regulations.
