The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has reported that, during its financial year 2024-2025 (July 2024 to June 2025), a total of 786 events were held at the venue, including 120 exhibitions, 90 international and local conferences, and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events. Over the year, the HKCEC said it welcomed over 7.8m attendees.
The 120 exhibitions and 90 international and local conferences covered diverse topics such as crypto, Web3, innovation and technology, fintech, sustainability, art, wines and spirits, holiday and travel, education, medical science, and Greater Bay Area development.
Eleven new exhibitions and 20 new conferences were held successfully at the HKCEC for the first time during the period. They included Consensus Hong Kong 2025, Hong Kong Holiday & Travel Expo 2024 Autumn, Hong Kong Illustration and Creative Show 8, 28th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR 2024), and International Society for Stem Cell Research 2025 Annual Meeting (ISSCR 2025).
The debut of Consensus Hong Kong 2025 concluded with a huge success and recorded nearly 10,000 in-person attendees from 102 countries and regions, with 75% from outside of Hong Kong. Being the World’s longest standing cryptocurrency, blockchain and Web3 event, Consensus picked Hong Kong and the HKCEC to be the first destination to expand its global footprint beyond North America. Alongside the sold-out Consensus Hong Kong 2025 at the HKCEC on 19 and 20 February 2025, over 350 side events were held in the city over the week, and altogether were estimated to have contributed HK$275m (US$35.26m) to the economy.
Ms Monica Lee-Müller, managing director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), the management company of the HKCEC, commented, “I’m proud that our targeted business development strategy, and the efficiency and professionalism of our operation workforce, have enabled us to secure several new exhibitions as well as retaining many long-established ones. We are encouraged to see these results which reflect that Hong Kong’s unique advantages as a super connector for hosting international events remain and reaffirm the HKCEC’s position as an ideal choice for exhibition and event organisers looking for a world-class venue, professional services and comprehensive solutions.”
The momentum continues with more upcoming new exhibitions and conferences at the HKCEC, such as Greater Bay Area Education and Talent Expo 2025 (October 2025), the 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery (WCPCCS 2025) (December 2025) which is expected to bring around 3,500 medical experts to Hong Kong, and the inaugural LEAP East, the Asian edition of LEAP – the flagship tech trade fair in Middle East (July 2026).
Of the 120 exhibitions held in FY2024/25 at the HKCEC there were: 41 trade exhibitions, 20 trade and public exhibitions and 59 public exhibitions. There were 109 recurrent exhibitions and 11 new exhibitions.
