Despite a difficult economic climate, Messe Stuttgart is reporting a successful close to the 2025 financial year, having organised 39 of its own events and hosted 20 guest events over the period. These events attracted a total of 16,030 exhibitors and 1,064,518 visitors.
Turnover of €134.6m was an above-average result for a year in which fewer events took place due to the trade fair cycles. Operating profit (EBITDA) of minus €2.9m was reported.
“The figures from 2025 have shown that, even under challenging conditions, we can be relied upon to deliver,” Roland Bleinroth, president of Messe Stuttgart, told a press conference.
The ongoing economic challenges in Germany were primarily reflected in the reluctance of domestic companies to invest, while booking behaviour in the exhibiting industry was restrained, he noted.
For the coming 2026 financial year, Messe Stuttgart is predicting higher event and turnover figures thanks to a strong event schedule. Following an impressive start with CMT in January and gastronomy trade fair INTERGASTRA in February, AMB (metal working) and VISION (machine vision) are another two key trade fairs scheduled for the autumn.
Messe Stuttgart is adding three new formats to the portfolio in the course of the year, two of which have already celebrated a successful premiere:
- XR EXPO (April 2026): The trade fair for Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) moved to the trade fair grounds and welcomed 61 exhibitors from more than 25 countries, as well as 1,350 trade visitors.
- MTO Days (June 2026): The new trade fair for buyers interested in precision tools took place alongside CastForge and the Battery Show Europe in order to utilise industry-wide synergies.
- EFX – Expo for Electronics Manufacturing (6–8 October 2026): The new industry event for electronics manufacturing will be taking place at the same time as VISION, Quantum Effects, as well as Motek and Bondexpo.
“With three premieres and a densely packed calendar, 2026 is sending a clear message regarding our competitiveness and the location of Stuttgart,” said president Stefan Lohnert.
Another premiere within the global R+T Alliance will follow in November with R+T Southeast Asia in Bangkok.
The start of 2027 will see Messe Stuttgart expand its international portfolio with the new GrindingHub Americas.
