PlantWorx 2027, the UK’s largest working construction equipment showcase acquired by Nineteen Group from Construction Equipment Events Ltd in 2025, is to move to the NEC Birmingham, UK, for its 2027 edition, running 22–24 June. The biennial event was previously held at the Newark Showground. Nineteen’s stated goal is to take the show to the next level with practical demonstration being the most central element to the event.
Organisers say early exhibitor demand has already exceeded expectations, with leading manufacturers committing to the show and securing demonstration space.
Working machinery, live demonstrations and heavy plant in action remain at the very heart of the show.
The move to the NEC, Nineteen Group says, represents an evolution of PlantWorx, providing improved facilities, excellent transport links and a central UK location while retaining the outdoor working environment that has defined the event since its inception.
Daniel Burton a senior marketing executive at Nineteen working on the PlantWorx Show, told EW: “Moving PlantWorx to the NEC Birmingham marks an exciting new chapter for the event and, more importantly, for the UK construction equipment industry. The move gives us the infrastructure, accessibility and scale to deliver an even stronger experience for exhibitors and visitors, while staying true to what has always made PlantWorx unique, seeing heavy plant and construction equipment working live in real-world conditions.
“This isn’t about changing the DNA of PlantWorx; it’s about giving it the platform it deserves… We’re looking forward to welcoming the construction community to NEC Birmingham in June 2027 for what will be the biggest evolution of PlantWorx to date.”
The event will combine modern indoor exhibition halls with extensive outdoor working areas, giving exhibitors the opportunity to demonstrate equipment in real-world conditions.
Among the businesses already announced are Wacker Neuson, Manitou, Magni Telescopic Handlers, Hydrema, Auger Torque and Rototilt, with more leading manufacturers having reserved space.
PlantWorx has also confirmed that parking will be free for all PlantWorx visitors at the NEC Birmingham and that it will continue its longstanding relationship with the Construction Equipment Association (CEA). The CEA member exhibitor discount remains available.
