Terror attack at Moscow Expo complex kills over 90, with death toll expected to rise

Early reports from Moscow on 23 March, said at least 93 people were dead and more than 150 wounded after terrorists opened fire on people attending a rock concert at Crocus City Hall, situated in the city region suburb of Krasnogorsk. The concert hall was opened in 2009 and is part of Crocus City, which includes the Crocus Expo centre. Videos uploaded to the Internet showed the concert hall roof on fire and collapsing in part.

An Islamic State group claimed to have carried out the terror attack.

Donald Trump brought his Miss Universe beauty pageant to the venue in 2013, the same year that British comedian Eddie Izzard also performed there.

Security has been tightened with events cancelled across Russia.

The White House has said it warned Russia of a potential attack on “large gatherings” in Moscow earlier this month.
