Winter Funland makes London debut at Olympia

Winter Funland will launch at London’s Olympia in December, bringing one of Europe’s largest indoor festive attractions to the UK capital for the first time. The event expects to draw over 100,000 visitors during its run from 12 December to 4 January.

The attraction combines a giant ice rink, circus show and over 20 funfair rides under one roof. Olympia’s West London venue will host the event across its historic halls, continuing the venue’s century-long tradition of staging major Christmas attractions.

Winter Funland has operated successful Christmas shows in Manchester and Birmingham for several years before expanding to London. Event manager Glen Ramsey said: “We have been successfully running our Christmas shows in Manchester and Birmingham for many years, but this year we are coming to London, and we can’t wait. Olympia is an iconic venue, especially at Christmas time, and we are delighted to be serving up this fantastic show.”

The event targets families with affordable pricing, starting at £37 for a 3.5-hour session. All rides, shows and ice-skating are included in the ticket price. Carers and children under three enter free.

Corporate packages accommodate groups up to 3,000 people with unlimited access to rides, shows, food and drink. Special late-night sessions include a New Year’s Eve event with live DJ entertainment.

Gareth Lloyd, business development director at Olympia Events, said: “We’re thrilled to host Winter Funland for its inaugural year in London and include this fantastic, family-friendly event to our strong line-up of Christmas.”

The venue will feature a festive food court and Christmas-themed bar serving mulled wine and seasonal drinks. The attraction represents Olympia’s latest effort to secure major seasonal events that can draw large audiences to its 14,000sqm exhibition space during traditionally quiet winter months.
