Mary Larkin appointed president of Nineteen Group Americas

Nineteen Group, the UK exhibitions and media business backed by Phoenix Equity Partners, has announced that Mary Larkin (pictured) will join the group to lead the next phase of growth into the Americas.

Phoenix Equity Partners recently announced raising a £200m continuation fund to extend its partnership with Nineteen Group and facilitate the rapid growth internationally.

Peter Jones, CEO of Nineteen Group said: “We are delighted to welcome Mary to Nineteen Group. She has a strong record and is universally well respected for her ability to run large portfolios of events as well as launch and acquire events in various sectors and geographies. As important as her significant record is her clear fit with our cultural values. From the minute we met her, we knew she was the person we wanted for this role!”

Larkin said: “I have admired the progress of Nineteen Group over recent years. I am so excited to join the group at this stage in its development to launch an Americas division. Their focus on resilient B2B markets, agility, and passion for the markets they serve has caught my attention. Furthermore, their rigorous daily focus on creating a culture first organisation is appealing and impressive. There is so much potential to launch and acquire in The Americas with this approach.”

Larkin has been in the event and media business for over 25 years. She started her career in Montgomery Exhibitions and was US lead for Diversified Exhibitions for many years and worked across various sectors and geographies. She has also chaired industry associations such as UFI and SISO.

Nineteen Group organises 21 events a year from offices in London, Hong Kong and Singapore and employs 180 colleagues.
