The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) and it-sa – Home of IT Security, have formalised their European Sovereignty Partnership, an exclusive agreement aimed at establishing the trade fair as the hub of reference for cybersecurity collaboration in Europe.
It-sa is a key B2B platform for IT and Cybersecurity exchanges between providers, users, policy makers and industry experts. It consists of three complementary products: it-sa Expo, it-sa Congress, and it-sa 365. The trade fair is held under the patronage of Alexander Dobrindt, Germany’s federal minister of the interior, and is supported by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Bitkom e. V. – the trade association for the German information and telecommunications industry –, and the Federal Association for IT Security e.V. (TeleTrusT) as a premium partner.
By joining forces with ECSO’s pan-European federation of cybersecurity organisations, professionals, and ecosystem stakeholders, it-sa gains the support of the wider European cybersecurity community and becomes an active contributor to the strengthening of Europe’s cyber resilience and strategic autonomy.
“This strategic partnership marks an important milestone for our ecosystem. it‑sa has become a cornerstone event for Europe’s cybersecurity community, and we clearly see this collaboration as a major opportunity to further strengthen the European cyber market. Together, we will create more space for high‑level strategic debates, support Europe’s cybersecurity sovereignty, and better connect industry, investors, policymakers and the wider ecosystem. At the same time, ECSO will bring a strong European flavour to this partnership – anchored in pan‑European co-operation, shared values, and a long‑term vision for Europe’s digital resilience and strategic autonom,” said Dr Joanna Świątkowska, ECSO secretary general.
“With ECSO, we are bringing on board a partner that takes a consistently European approach to cybersecurity and offers excellent connections to policymakers, institutions and communities, building on it-sa’s established role in Germany, we are jointly creating an even more closely networked European forum. This specifically addresses the growing need for digital sovereignty and enhances the appeal of the trade fair for exhibitors, trade visitors and institutions from across Europe,” added Thimo Holst, exhibition director of it-sa – Home of IT Security
The first tangible results of this partnership are visible through the ECSO Village, with its next edition taking place at this year’s edition of the trade fair in Nuremberg in October. ECSO is additionally adopting a curatorial role by contributing with its strategic expertise and engaging with international delegations to support the development of the it-sa Congress.
The ECSO CISO Community and other ECSO networks complement this collaboration at both a content and strategic level, and will enjoy exclusive perks at the trade fair and at the activities taking place before, during, and after the event.
