The CPHI Annual Industry Survey has been released ahead of CPHI Milan – the world’s largest pharma event, scheduled for 8-10 October at Fiera Milano.
Organised by Informa, CPHI Milan 2024 will host more than 62,000 pharma professionals and 2,500 exhibitors (including over 600 CDMOs), making it the largest gathering in the contract services calendar.
Tara Dougal, brand and content director at CPHI Milan, commented on the importance of the event: “CPHI Milan has become an integral part of the industry’s development pathway, facilitating early partnerships and alternative supply chain strategies to meet growing capacity needs.”
Dougal noted that the event is especially important as biotechs and smaller collaborations increasingly require specialised services that can be more easily negotiated at in-person events.
“We’re seeing … increased demand for biologics and complex therapy-focused content at CPHI Milan. Importantly, the small molecule CDMO sector remains strong, with many mid- and large-sized CDMOs expanding capacity for tides and monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).”
Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2024, CPHI Milan will offer extensive networking opportunities and access to the global supply chain, with attendees from nearly 170 countries. The event will also feature a ‘Bioproduction’ zone, over 150 speakers, and 100 content sessions, including highlights such as the Next-Gen Bio Theatre, discussions on mRNA vaccines, and a keynote on the EU’s biotech strategy.
