ExpoPlatform signs three-year deal with IMEX to partner on event tech

IMEX Group has agreed a three-year partnership, running through to the end of 2026, with UK-based event tech provider ExpoPlatform as official event tech partner ahead of IMEX America this October.

The announcement comes after a successful IMEX Frankfurt 2023 in May, where a new online platform launched with features designed to maximise business connections and ease of use for participants.

Work has since been going on behind the scenes to improve the tools on offer for the next edition of IMEX America, which takes place 17-19 October.

Gary Coombs, CIO of the IMEX Group, said: “Changing one of the most fundamental systems IMEX uses was a huge task, but ExpoPlatform has an innate understanding of our requirements as a trade show organiser.

“The result was a new online platform with a range of features and tools carefully designed to maximise business connections and ease of use.

“First and foremost, we wanted a platform designed to add value for our attendees and exhibitors and enhance their experience at our shows. A people-first rather than a tech-first approach, if you like.

“The sheer breadth of the platform allowed us to customise the set up so that it fits our needs and those of our clients.”

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, added: “We learnt a huge amount during the first implementation at IMEX Frankfurt and are pleased with the improvements we’ve been able to make for IMEX America.

“ExpoPlatform has been a great partner and hugely responsive in adapting to our specific needs – this gives us great confidence in how we can continually improve the platform for our clients’ benefit in the future and supports our business priority of delivering an enhanced user experience.”

Tanya Pinchuk, CEO of ExpoPlatform, said: “IMEX events are among the greatest showcases for business, while also spearheading positive change in our industry through their education programmes and principles.

“That’s why we are delighted to be working with them to make their events even more smart and seamless.”

At IMEX Frankfurt this year, over 57,000 confirmed meetings were made, of which nearly 48,000 were pre-booked one-on-one meetings.

More than 285,000 unique messages happened on the show’s online platform, while over 74,000 lead scans were made by exhibitors and buyers on the new IMEX app.
