After 10 years serving as CEO of SNIEC, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Michael Kruppe (pictured) has signed a new five-year contract with the shareholders of the company to continue is his role.
Kruppe joined the company in 2014 at a time when many new venues were being built in China including the NECC in Shanghai, which, in particular, increased the competitive pressure on SNIEC.
Despite an intense market situation, SNIEC under Kruppe’s leadership succeeded in reaching new record levels and in 2019 hit its highest ever occupancy rate of 74%, one of the highest in the world.
Going forward, Kruppe tells CMW SNIEC will “further focus on customer satisfaction and continue to improve service levels”. He adds that “almost all the top 10 global show organisers have been using SNIEC’s service for many years now”.
