Organisers of CAPAS show in China put green ideas into practice on Arbour Day

Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), joint organisers of Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS), hosted a site visit at the show’s afforestation project to celebrate Arbour Day on 5 May.

A Sichuan and Chongqing media delegation, a group of exhibitors and representatives from related authorities travelled to Meishan, Sichuan to see that the trees planted in 2017 are flourishing. The Arbour Day event acknowledged the green ideas in the automotive industry contributing to the environmental sustainability of Southwest China.

Companies supervised under the Sichuan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission must now follow measures for energy saving and carbon reduction and the Province has also implemented its first local standard for businesses managing greenhouse gas emission. This includes guidance on monitoring and reporting output, as well as participating in carbon trading.

James Yu, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, said: “Messe Frankfurt continues to drive sustainability through its social responsibilities, environmental practices, and trade fair highlights. For example, we strive to utilise recycled or recyclable materials for booth constructions at the show floor. In addition, with 35 events in the Mobility and Logistics sector, we are part of pushing transformation in the automotive industry, having new energy vehicles and low carbon emissions at the top of our agenda.”

With the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry in Southwest China, CAPAS offers exhibitors a high-quality platform for their green products and technologies across the entire industrial chain.

At this year’s show the Chengdu-Chongqing Dual-city Economic Rim zone will again host an expected 20 regional pavilions with many exhibitors putting their new energy vehicles products on show. The Yibin pavilion is set to draw attention to the advanced products and technologies for manufacturing new energy vehicles, batteries and engines.

The New Energy Vehicle Maintenance area will offer a training course about diagnostics and maintenance, featuring the repair equipment, tools, new energy vehicle parts, and charging stations highlighted across the exhibition floor.

To support the area, the China New Energy Vehicle International Co-operation Conference 2023 will explore topics including technological innovation, global expansion, second-hand new energy vehicles, and customising. Furthermore, the Southwest Automotive Aftermarket Summit 2023 will delve into aftermarket services for new energy vehicles.

CAPAS will take place 18-20 May 2023 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center. The fair is jointly organised by CCPIT-Auto, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and CCPIT-Sichuan. For more information, visit www.capas-chengdu.com
