Step Connect2 launches Amsterdam education event

Step Connect2, the independent organisers of UK exhibition Education Estates, has announced the launch of a new event in Amsterdam, The European Universities Estates Congress.

The event, held in collaboration with the University Design Forum, will take place on 26-27 February 2025 at RAI Amsterdam. The congress will comprise an exhibition and conference and will take place biennially.

Organisers said Amsterdam is the ideal location for an event concentrated on higher education due to the city being home to some of the “most innovative universities” in Europe.

As with the UK edition, which takes place at Manchester Central, the Amsterdam event will be free to attend for all those directly employed in universities.  A delegate fee will apply for private-sector delegates.  The exhibition will be free for all to attend.

Key topics at the European Universities Estates Congress will include: refurbishment and retrofit; good estate management; net zero; sustainability; health and wellbeing; and technology and AI.

Exhibitors will include architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers of products and services for universities.  The Congress will attract an audience of estates professionals, architects and consultants.

James Lee, CEO and co-founder of Step Connect2, said: “We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of this new event. It’s an area in which we already have significant expertise and connections, and we are delighted to be working in collaboration with the University Design Forum.

“The European Universities Estates Congress will offer university estates professionals throughout Europe a rare opportunity to discuss solutions to common challenges and replicate each other’s successes. We already have a lot of interest from our UK clients and we’re in touch with university leaders from across Europe.  The website is up so do check it out and register if you wish to be kept up to date.”
