Strauss partners up with Messe Stuttgart for Scandinavian push

Jan Strauss (pictured), CEO of Strauss & Partnere in Denmark’s Holstebro, has recently been appointed the new official Messe Stuttgart representative for the Scandinavian countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

“With Jan Strauss, we are delighted to have found a marketing expert who more than understands the international trade fair and congress business and, geographically, is in the best position to further promote our ventures in Scandinavia,” said Roland Bleinroth, president and CEO of Messe Stuttgart.

Strauss speaks Danish, German and English and is also proficient in Swedish and Norwegian and said he intends to expand the Scandinavian presence at Stuttgart’s trade fairs and congresses. “It has been my personal wish for quite some time to represent Messe Stuttgart. I’m looking forward to the new challenges this opportunity brings. While we are very experienced here at Strauss & Partnere in the trade fair business, representing internationally leading trade fairs for 23 years, Messe Stuttgart is something quite new for us,” he said.

Strauss has worked as CEO of the Office of the Danish Ministry of Industry and Trade in Germany and said: “Messe Stuttgart lies in the ‘engine room’ of German industry. Within a radius of just a few hundred kilometres around the city of Stuttgart, the purchasing power is immense. It is also located close to an international airport, meaning visitors, exhibitors and the press have quick and easy access to the many events. And, finally, Messe Stuttgart hosts leading trade fairs in so many different industry segments, including leading guest events.”

Altogether, Messe Stuttgart has more than 27 project-related international departments and information offices that cater to 48 countries. Trade fairs are also organised by its subsidiaries in China, India, Turkey and the US.

Bleinroth added: “The Scandinavian countries are well represented at our events, particularly in the technology sectors. Visitors from Denmark, Norway and Sweden come to participate in trade fairs such as AMB, didacta, INTERGASTRA, NORTEC, R+T, südback, TecStyle Visions and VISION. We also regularly welcome visitors from these countries to Stuttgart.”

“Personal contact with trade fair representatives who live in your own country, can answer many of your questions and are familiar with the cultural nuances. Especially first-time exhibitors appreciate advice when trying to choose the event best suited to them and their offer,” Bleinroth said, adding that Strauss was aiming to do just that.
