Thailand reopens to visitors and prepares to put on its best exhibition face for Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN

Fully vaccinated travellers from any country around the world can apply for a TEST & GO Thailand Pass via an app to enter Thailand, from 7 March. The requirements for international arrivals by air and land are that, on the first day of arrival, visitors should take a RT-PCR test and wait for the result within an approved hotel, spending one night there. A second test is then required on Day 5 by a self-ATK method. That result must be reported via the app. It also involves a second overnight stay.

The second RT-PCR test will not be required if the traveller’s length of stay is less than five nights,

The news is a sign that Thailand is reopening for business events and organisers are already rushing to fill the gap.

Organisers of Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN, scheduled 15–17 September 2022 at the IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center in Bangkok, are meanwhile, gearing up their marketing for their trade show serving the fast-growing beauty market of South East Asia.

Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN is a new addition to the international network of Cosmoprof events, and will be organised by the alliance between BolognaFiere Group, Informa Markets, and China Beauty Expo (CBE).

An exhibition space of over 10,000sqm will host around 500 exhibitors and brands, from the supply chain to the branded finished products, to meet with more than 8,000 expected visitors.

“Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN will offer to our community the chance to seize the economic potential of South-East Asia,” says Gianpiero Calzolari, president of BolognaFiere. “With this new project, Cosmoprof confirms its role as the most strategic partner for beauty stakeholders interested in new international markets. “As physical trade shows gradually resume, we are excited to launch Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN to encourage international beauty players to tap into South East Asia market with high potential. While Thailand is sending positive and welcoming signal, providing financial support, as organisers, we are confident to deliver a high-quality show,” says  David Bondi, senior VP – Asia of Informa Markets.

Over 70% of the Thai population is fully vaccinated and the country represents the biggest cosmetics industry in South East Asia. The revenue in the beauty market amounts to US$25.2bn in 2021, which is expected to grow annually by 5.73% to 2026, and beauty e-commerce sales are projected to grow US$88bn in 2025.
