World Miniature Hobby Show & Malaysia Competition (MALCOM) scale up in Penang

The 11th World Miniature Hobby Show (WMHS) & Malaysia Competition (MALCOM) following a rebrand, will return to Penang, 13-14 June 2026 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre. The show – formerly known as the Malaysia International Hobby Show and held at St Giles Wembley Hotel in Penang – will bring together the best in miniature artistry, modelling excellence, and hobby innovation from around the world.

This year marks the largest WMHS & MALCOM edition to date, with 100 exhibitors expected and an estimated 30,000 visitors anticipated over the two-day event. It will be the show’s first appearance at the upgraded Setia SPICE Convention Centre.

WMHS & MALCOM 2026 will showcase an international line-up of participants, artists, judges, and hobby enthusiasts from 26 countries and regions. One of the major highlights of this year’s event is the introduction of new competition categories, including Mecha/Maschinen Krieger and Anime & Garage Kit.

There will be free daily stage demonstrations by world-class artists from around the globe. Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Wong Hon Wai, emphasised the international significance of WMHS & MALCOM 2026. “The 2026 edition at Setia SPICE Convention Centre further strengthens Penang’s position on the world stage as a hub for creative and niche international gatherings,” he said. With its expanded scale, new competition categories, and strong international participation, WMHS & MALCOM 2026 is set to further elevate Penang’s profile as a leading destination for creative industries and global hobby culture.
