MAD Event Management, the Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA) and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, have made an announcement: the Global Policy Forum will take place on 29 May 2026 at the Army Navy Club in Washington, DC.
The one-day forum will bring together leaders from the global events industry, senior government officials, embassy representatives, trade bodies and the US Department of Commerce. The focus will be on policy issues shaping international exhibitions and business events. These will include questions of trade, workforce development and sustainability.
The event aims to strengthen cooperation between policymakers and industry stakeholders to support growth and innovation across the sector. Sustainability will be a core theme, with discussions on how environmental policy can drive change within event operations and supply chains.
“This is an important moment for our industry to engage with decision-makers and shape the policies that impact how we connect and conduct business worldwide,” said Martha Donato, president of MAD Event Management.
Chris Skeith OBE, CEO of UFI, added: “The Global Policy Forum comes at a pivotal time for our industry. As we strengthen collaboration between UFI’s global community and ECA’s advocacy efforts, we look forward to adding both reach and perspective to the policies shaping potential legislation and regulation in the U.S.”
Tommy Goodwin, executive vice-president of ECA, said: “Many policy issues critical to the future of the industry are global in nature and they will require global solutions. The Global Policy Forum will bring industry and government leaders together to share best practices and identify future policymaking opportunities.”
Details on the full programme and registration will be announced soon. Updates will be available at www.globalpolicyforum.global.
