in-cosmetics Korea 2024 showcases new beauty biotech, with record attendance

The only exhibition dedicated to personal care ingredients in South Korea, in-cosmetics Korea 2024, concluded on 26 July. Attracting over 16,700 visitors, the show had over 30% higher attendance than the 2023 edition.

Co-located with Intercharm, in-cosmetics Korea 2024 brought together international suppliers like DSM, Ashland, Evonik and Lubrizol with attendees from 17 different countries.

Market players like Activon, Cellicon Lab, GFC Life Science and H&A Pharmachem made a return appearance. The standout products of the exhibition were SAES Chemicals’ ZeoSAES UV Booster – first inorganic UV Booster derived from engineered zeolites – Cellicon Lab’s DCA-WAT – a new dermal delivery technology – and H&A Pharmachem’s Layered Actives Delivery system.

Commenting on the event, one exhibitor said: “in-cosmetics Korea is a very important event for us to be recognised by Korean cosmetics manufacturers. It is an opportunity to connect with multiple customers at once and spark their interest in our products.”

Responding to the growing consumer demand for the integration of beauty and health, the Natural Extract Zone was expanded at this year’s event. This area of the show highlighted the industry’s shift towards sustainability and the increased interest in natural and organic products. The expansion was so well-received that the Natural Extract Zone will be replaced by a larger Inner Beauty Zone in 2025.

The in-cosmetics Korea Awards ceremony was held on the first day to celebrate leading companies. The newly-introduced K-Beauty Standout Award – which recognised innovative skincare and makeup products setting global trends – was awarded to dsm-firmenich for PENTAVITIN®, a natural ingredient renowned for its deep hydration and skin-nourishing properties.

Sarah Gibson, exhibition director of in-cosmetics Korea, commented: “This year’s event has undoubtedly been our most successful in-cosmetics Korea to date. The co-location with Intercharm brought in new prospects, and our digital enhancements significantly improved the visitor experience.”
